People Injured in Aviation Accidents

New York Aviation Accident Lawyers at Gair, Gair Conason,Steigman and Mackauf have been representing victims of Airline Crashes for over sixty years.

Our airline accident attorneys have represented victims of almost every major airplane crash in the last 60 years. GGCS&M  approach to Aviation litigation is the same as it is in all of the firm cases. We do not accept representation “in bulk” but rather approach each case individually. This is a different approach than many other firms in the area of airline crash litigation.

A Pioneer in the field of Aviation Crash litigation

The Firm's founder, Harry A. Gair was universally recognized as the pioneer in the field of aviation crash litigation, handling such cases as the American Airlines crash in the East River on February 3rd 1959. Among the numerous other airline crash cases he handled, was the case of Jane Froman and Gypsy Lee Markoff against Pan American lines.

Following the trial, the trial Judge, Aron Steuer, the son of the great trial lawyer Max Steuer, wrote Gair the following on March 18th 1953:

My Dear Mr. Gair, In the course of over twenty-three years on the bench I have had occasion to listen to some thousands of summations. I have never heard one which was the equal of your effort made yesterday, march 17th 1953, in the action of Froman and Markoff against Pan American Lines. For cogency of argument, selection of material from the record, manner of presentation and delivery, in fact from every standpoint it was masterly. Do not infer from this that I find that any part of the presentation of the case was less than what it ought have been, but only that the summation was so outstanding that I cannot forbear declaring my admiration.

60 years of experience in major airline crashes

The aviation lawyers at Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman and Mackauf have carried on in the tradition of our Firm's founder having been involved in almost every major airline crash involving N.Y. and N.J. residents.

Recently, our partner, Howard S. Hershenhorn, led our firm's successful efforts in representing a severely injured passenger in American Eagle flight #327 an airplane crash in Raleigh N.C. Howard Hershenhorn also served on the Steering Committee for all the victims families working with counsel in North Carolina and travelling around the country taking depositions of multiple pilots, expert aeronautical engineers and others.

GGCS&M also represented the widow of one of the highest ranking executives of Citigroup who was killed in an airplane crash in Brazil while on a TAM (Brazilian airline)airplane that crashed into a building. The case was brought against the airline and the airplane manufacturer in New York and was resolved very favorably.

Our aviation lawyers have also represented the family of the President of Chopard U.S.A. who was killed in the airplane crash of Swiss Air flight 111 as well as the families of multiple victims of the American Airlines crash over Belle Harbor Queens.

Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman & Mackauf are also currently representing the family of a passenger killed in an airplane crash while flying in a small Piper airplane which crashed while flying in New England last spring.
