Ms. Kurtz-Citrin has been a valuable player for the Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman, Mackauf, Bloom & Rubinowitz team since joining the firm in 2002. She has extensive experience in the litigation of complex personal injury cases in the areas of medical malpractice, car accidents and municipal liability. Ms. Kurtz-Citrin’s work with the firm focuses on pre-trial preparation. Her hands-on involvement begins with the very inception of her cases and continues through settlement or trial. Ms. Kurtz-Citrin forges strong relationships and develops excellent rapport with her clients. She is known for her diligent preparation for court appearances and thorough preparation of her clients for their depositions. Ms. Kurtz-Citrin’s excellent research and writing skills have led to a high level of successful court decisions for her clients.
Ms. Kurtz-Citrin is responsible for files that result in multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts. Her duties include interviewing clients and witnesses, conducting in-depth investigations, drafting pleadings and discovery notices and responses, preparing clients and witnesses for depositions, defending and conducting depositions, consulting with and procuring medical experts and reviewing and maintaining her clients’ records. Ms. Kurtz-Citrin also researches legal issues pertaining to all aspects of litigation. She drafts and argues motions concerning all areas of litigation including evidence, civil procedure, liability and damages.
She began her career as a prosecutor in the District Attorney’s Office, Queens County where she developed her advocacy skills trying numerous felonies including robberies, gun possession and narcotics cases. She also submitted appellate briefs and argued before the Appellate Division, Second Department.
