New York Lawyer Jerome I. Katz
Jerry Katz, who joined the firm in
1971, specializes in investigating
and preparing cases, especially
those involving vehicular accidents,
premises liability and
general tort
cases.
He has litigated numerous cases to
verdict and has settled several
multi-million dollar and
high-profile cases. In recognition
of his knowledge of the personal
injury field he has been appointed a
mediator in the U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of New
York.
Active in several bar associations,
Mr. Katz has served on committees
reviewing the New York Courts,
legislation, professional
responsibility , ethical
issues and alternative dispute
resolution. He also assisted the
Association of the Bar of the City
of New York in drafting new rules
relating to the administration of
the court system.
He is currently chairman of
the prestigious Tort Litigation
Committee of the Association of the
Bar, a committee which consists of
members of the judiciary, plaintiffs
and defendants attorneys,
and is also a member of the New York
Supreme Court Tort Advisory
Committee.
He lives in Long Island with his
wife Joyce and they have two sons.
