An automobile  accident is a road traffic incident which usually involves at least one road vehicle being in collision with, either another vehicle, another road user, or a stationary roadside object, and which usually results in injury or property damage.

Each year thousands of people are injured in automobile accidents. There are many types of automobiles accidents. The most common type is what is referred to as a two car collision. Other types of automobiles accident involve pedestrians accidents in which a pedestrian is struck by an automobile. Bicyclists are also often struck by automobiles.

It is the duty of the driver of an automobile to operate the vehicle with reasonable care taking into account the actual and potential dangers existing. The driver of a motor vehicle is obligated to drive at a reasonably safe rate of speed to have his automobile under reasonable control: to keep a proper lookout under circumstances, to see and be aware of what is in his view; and to use reasonable care to avoid an accident.

A $ 26 million settlement for a pedestrian who was struck by a truck

A $12,500,000 verdict on behalf of a pedestrian who suffered degloving injuries to her leg and buttocks after being struck by a bus.

A $2,050,000 verdict for a man who was struck by a transit authority bus while riding his bicycle. He suffered pelvic injuries and urethral injuries.

A $4,000,000 verdict for a woman who was injured in a auto accident when a car crossed into her lane of travel. Her seven year old daughter was killed in the accident, and she suffered a fractured leg.

A$6,000,000 settlement in Bergen County, New Jersey (one of the largest in state history) in a combination motor vehicle accident/medical malpractice case for a 61 year old woman who sustained a herniated disc as a passenger in a motor vehicle accident.
